Location: Ahilyanagar (with travel to Nagpur and Sangamner)
Experience: 3+ years in design, development, or implementation of M&E systems in development sector + exp. in research and evaluation design, reporting, knowledge management

Role

Transform data into insights that drive rural development impact. Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive M&E systems that track progress, measure outcomes, and inform decision-making across watershed and climate resilience projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive regional M&E frameworks and reporting systems for tracking outcomes, outputs, and activities
  • Create and revise M&E tools including performance tracking systems, indicators, data flow charts, and monitoring guides
  • Design feasible indicators, targets, and data collection frameworks for all project components
  • Build automated information management systems and dashboards for real-time progress tracking
  • Collect and analyse data regularly to measure achievement against performance indicators at all levels
  • Ensure data validity, reliability, and timeliness through quality checks and corrective actions
  • Maintain and update MIS platforms to ensure M&E data accessibility
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports providing comprehensive insights on progress and lessons learned
  • Support compliance with donor reporting requirements and review project documents
  • Coordinate thematic assessments, mid-term evaluations, and end-line studies
  • Track implementation progress, challenges, and lessons learned through field visits and analysis
  • Collaborate with WOTR head office to ensure M&E standards are maintained across projects
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites in rural areas (50-60% travel required)

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Agriculture Economics, Development Studies, Rural Development, Anthropology, or Post Graduate Diploma in Development Management
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in design, development, or implementation of M&E systems in development sector
  • At least 2 years' experience in research and evaluation design, reporting, and knowledge management
  • Minimum 2 years' experience setting up and maintaining information and data management platforms
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Looker Studio, Tableau, Excel/Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with routine management of information systems
  • Experience with statistical packages such as SPSS or STATA (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel extensively to rural project sites
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills
