Girl Effect works with adolescent girls, young women, as well as boys, young men, and influential community gatekeepers to foster behaviour change. The organisation collaborates with governments, corporations, and development partners to expand its reach and impact. It leverages storytelling through TV dramas, chat shows, radio, digital platforms, and chatbots to engage millions of girls across the country.
As part of a larger international non-profit headquartered in London, Girl Effect India focuses on delivering scalable programs driven by evidence-based social and behaviour change science. Its commitment is to improve girls’ health and education, ultimately enabling them to make informed choices and lead dignified lives.
Role
Girl Effect India is seeking an experienced Partnership and Fundraising Consultant to expand the reach, impact, and financial sustainability of its youth brand and programs, particularly the Chhaa Jaa initiative. This remote consultancy role involves developing and implementing a robust fundraising strategy, building relationships with institutional donors, philanthropic foundations, CSR entities, and high-net-worth individuals across India, to secure funding aligned with Girl Effect’s mission.
Responsibilities
- A fundraising strategy and prospect pipeline comprising a minimum of 20 prospects identified which align with GE’s thematic areas.
- Engagement with at least 2 potential prospects per month.
- Support in the organizing of four donor-facing events or showcases.
Requirements
- Proven experience in partnership strategy and fundraising in the Indian development sector.
- Deep understanding of institutional and philanthropic donor landscapes in India.
- Strong networking, communication, and proposal development skills.
- Innovative and entrepreneurial approach to funding.
- Ability to operate independently and collaborate virtually.
- Experience managing relationships with CSR, HNI, bilateral/multilateral donors preferred.
