Role

The Placement Officer plays a vital role in connecting young journey-makers to their first jobs. Based in Salem, you will bridge the gap between trained candidates and employers, ensuring that every student in the livelihood program finds a meaningful and sustainable career path.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong partnerships with local and regional employers to create job opportunities.
Organize and manage placement drives and campus interviews for program participants.
Conduct career counselling sessions to help students understand their strengths and job interests.
Coordinate with the training team to ensure students are well-prepared for interviews and workplace expectations.
Support candidates during the hiring process and track their progress after they start working.
Maintain accurate records of placements and provide regular reports on employment trends.
Mentor young individuals to help them stay motivated and succeed in their long-term career goals.

Requirements

Experience in campus placements, employability programs, or HR recruitment.
Strong knowledge of the local job market in Salem and surrounding areas.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to talk effectively with both corporate partners and students.
Ability to provide career guidance and conduct basic training sessions.
Proficiency in using basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel) for reporting and data management.
A sensitive and patient approach when working with youth from underserved communities.
Strong networking skills and the ability to solve problems quickly in a professional setting.
