As we prepare to open-source parts of BeCause while keeping core systems proprietary, we are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to drive the development and optimization of the core systems of the BeCause platform. You will play a crucial role in balancing our open-source and proprietary technologies, ensuring the platform’s scalability, security, and global reach.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain the core systems of the BeCause platform with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate open-source and proprietary components.
- Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure supporting both open-source and proprietary needs.
- Work with the legal team to ensure compliance with open-source licenses, intellectual property rights, and copyright laws.
- Engage with the open-source community, managing contributions to the platform.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, developing scalable and high-performance systems.
- Proficient in Go, with additional experience in Python, Java, or C++ being a plus.
- Hands-on experience in both open-source and proprietary software development environments.
- Understanding of software licensing, copyright, and intellectual property issues.
- Experience with cloud services like Google Cloud (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and containerization platforms like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
