Pratham International
Pratham International, a US 501(c)(3) entity within the Pratham network, champions education and youth training initiatives across the globe.
Pratham’s transformative innovations include the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) — a citizen-led assessment movement — and the evidence-based Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. These innovations have been honed over several years and have expanded beyond India as early as 2009.
Launched in 2023, Pratham International supports local communities, NGOs, and governments to adapt and implement solutions collaboratively in diverse contexts worldwide.
Pratham International has been established to support efforts for the education and training of children and youth in contexts across the globe. Our mission is fueled by the stark reality that many societies grapple with a crisis of learning, leaving 7 out of 10 children in low and middle-income countries unable to read simple text by age 10. This is not the whole problem of education, but it quantifies that the system is not working for at least 7 out of 10 children. We understand that without foundational skills, these children are unlikely to thrive in complex societies, and without contextualized interventions, youth who are left behind may not reach their full potential as they enter the workforce.
For over 25 years, the distinct entities in the Pratham network have been united by a common purpose — to drive positive change and make a lasting impact through education. Each entity within our network brings experiences and professionals that help to address global challenges related to learning and uplifting communities in need. With Pratham Education Foundation and Pratham International as our core delivery organizations, our network also includes our fundraising affiliates in the US, UK, Sweden, and Australia.
