Role
The Platforms & Engineering team builds the technology that saves lives. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining digital products used by families and healthcare workers across four countries. You will help shape our platforms as we grow, making sure our tools are reliable and easy to use. By working with designers and medical experts, you will turn user needs into high-quality software that directly improves patient care.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full life of a software project, from the first idea to releasing and supporting it.
- Build secure and scalable backend services and APIs for mobile and web apps.
- Create efficient database systems that can handle large amounts of information.
- Work closely with frontend developers and designers to make sure products work smoothly for users.
- Write clean, well-tested code that is ready for daily use.
- Fix bugs and improve existing code to keep our systems running well.
- Research new technologies that can make our development process faster and better.
- Help set the team culture and processes as our engineering department grows.
Requirements
- An engineering degree in computer science, information science, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in the software development sector (service/product).
- Proven experience in designing and developing digital products, specifically with backend services and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of database structures, coding for scale, and using analytics tools to track system performance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams, including medical and research experts.
- A commitment to designing inclusive technology that serves diverse.
