Their Digital Public Health Program is currently building the next generation of systems using WhatsApp-based nudging, automation, and conversational AI to support health workers on the ground.
Role
You will act as the bridge between complex technology and the realities of the field. As the Product Owner, you will translate insights from health workers into digital tools that actually work for them. You will manage the lifecycle of AI-enabled solutions from the initial idea to deployment, ensuring these tools help save lives.
Responsibilities
- Lead research and design processes directly with community health workers (ASHAs, ANMs) to understand their needs.
- Translate field insights into clear requirements and workflows for the engineering team to build.
- Collaborate with engineers to define features and manage the product backlog.
- Oversee the rollout of digital pilots and ensure prototypes are tested and improved based on real-world use.
- Coordinate with design, research, and monitoring teams to deliver a cohesive product experience.
- Track how well the tools are being adopted using dashboards and user feedback.
- Ensure all digital solutions align with government standards and national health regulations.
- Prepare necessary documentation, user flows, and updates for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in product management or implementing digital health programs.
- Hands-on experience working with community health workers and government staff at the district level.
- Familiarity with WhatsApp automation platforms like Glific, Gupshup, or WATI.
- Comfort engaging with AI/ML tools and mobile data systems.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Trello, JIRA, and Google Sheets.
- A strong communicator who can connect technical teams with field teams.
