In the heart of Mumbai, Urja Trust stands as a vibrant force for change, dedicated to rewriting the stories of young women who have experienced homelessness and hardship. Rather than simply offering shelter, Urja Trust creates a nurturing space where each woman is encouraged to rediscover her strengths, pursue her dreams, and reclaim her sense of belonging.

Founded in 2011, the organisation is driven by the belief that every young woman deserves dignity, freedom, and the chance to shape her own future, no matter her past. Urja Trust’s approach is deeply personal and holistic, blending practical support—like education, vocational training, and job placement—with emotional healing, legal guidance, and leadership development. The team walks alongside each woman, offering not just resources but genuine companionship and encouragement as she builds a new life.
Beyond individual support, Urja Trust is a powerful advocate for change. Through awareness campaigns, research, and policy work, the organisation shines a light on the challenges faced by homeless women and pushes for a more just and compassionate society. Their impact is seen in hundreds of lives transformed, with women returning to education, finding meaningful work, and inspiring others to believe in themselves.
Urja Trust is not just an organisation—it is a family, a community, and a beacon of hope for young women seeking a fresh start in Mumbai.
