Role

As a Program Coordinator, you will serve as the primary link between the Area Development Program office and the community. You will lead and mentor a team of Community Mobilizers, facilitating programs that directly improve child well-being. This role involves building local partnerships, managing sponsorship standards, and ensuring that development initiatives reach the families who need them most.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 5 to 7 Community Mobilizers to ensure effective fieldwork.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local stakeholders and government bodies at the block level.
  • Oversee the monitoring of registered children and ensure communication meets sponsorship standards.
  • Establish and support community-led child protection mechanisms within the cluster.
  • Facilitate the selection process for child sponsorship, ensuring the most vulnerable families are included.
  • Identify opportunities for resource diversification and support local fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor program progress and address end-user issues within the primary focus area.

Requirements

  • University graduate in any discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in development, social work, or project coordination.
  • Strong understanding of poverty issues, government schemes, and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
  • Ability to read and write in English, with excellent communication skills in the local language.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and data collection methodologies.
  • Strong networking and leadership skills to manage small teams effectively.
  • Willingness to work in diverse cultural settings and interact with community members daily.
