Through their flagship RISE program in India and Kenya, and free educational resources for educators globally, they've reached 30,000 adolescents, 800,000 educators, 5,000 partners and 400 parents across 18 countries.

Role

Girl Rising is seeking a Program Manager to lead program execution across India, managing partnerships, overseeing an AI-based pilot project, and ensuring quality delivery of their education initiatives. This role involves coordinating with local partners, government stakeholders and communities to expand the reach and impact of Girl Rising's work.

Responsibilities

  • Design project workplans in consultation with the Senior Director and local partners to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Manage and support local partners through regular check-in calls, report oversight and assessment of project deliverables
  • Lead pilot implementation of an Artificial Intelligence-based project in Chhattisgarh
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to partner organisations to assess curriculum implementation, provide on-ground support, identify challenges and document stories of change
  • Liaise with local government stakeholders in consultation with partners to elevate Girl Rising's work in the state
  • Curate district or state-level events in collaboration with local partners to demonstrate Girl Rising's work
  • Support the design of training workshops for government school teachers and facilitators on effective use of educational resources
  • Contribute to the development of Girl Rising's curricula, tools, training and media assets, and adapt existing materials for new states
  • Produce quality writing pieces for internal and external communications and research for different audiences, including publications and conferences
  • Represent Girl Rising at external events; cultivate and strengthen networks with NGOs, government institutions and funders
  • Support proposal development to expand Girl Rising's donor base in the country as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant area
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in social impact, gender or development
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of women's rights and gender equality in India
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Sound technical understanding of AI concepts and related tools
  • Ability to multitask effectively, work independently and remotely, and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deliver assignments on time
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite and Google Suite
  • Fluency in English and Hindi
