Role

WRI India is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead geospatial analysis and digital solutions for its Food, Land and Water program. This role combines data-driven research with project management to support sustainable agriculture, landscape restoration, and reduction of food loss. The Program Manager will coordinate technical teams, deliver analytical insights, and ensure actionable outcomes for on-ground implementation. One-year extendable contract.

Responsibilities

  • Drive research and innovation using remote sensing and multi-sector datasets for nature-based solutions.
  • Lead the development of online tools, platforms, and applications for decision-making support.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align projects with strategic goals and product roadmaps.
  • Prepare technical reports, working papers, and knowledge products.
  • Manage project timelines, track deliverables, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Support quantitative research and analytics for diverse stakeholders.
  • Work with communications teams to showcase insights through publications and digital media.
  • Maintain partnerships to enhance data sharing and technology development adhering to institutional standards.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Geography, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or a related field.
  • 10-12+ years of experience in geospatial analytics with expertise in leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, Quantum GIS, MapInfo) and coding languages like Python, R, or Javascript.
  • Experience with Google Earth Engine, spatial analysis, modeling, and predictive techniques.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation systems, public GIS datasets, and crowdsourced platforms.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI is desirable.
  • Cloud computing and web development experience is a plus.
