India Climate Collaborative
India Climate Collaborative (ICC) is a philanthropy-led platform catalysing climate action in India. Founded in 2020 by leaders including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra and Nadir Godrej, ICC unlocks philanthropic capital, surfaces priority climate solutions, and builds connective infrastructure so funding can travel farther and faster. It advises donors entering climate giving, designs impact-ready opportunities across mitigation and resilience, and convenes partners across sectors to turn ideas into action for India’s development pathways.
Role
ICC is seeking a Program Manager – Heat to turn strategy into execution for its emerging extreme heat resilience and climate-friendly cooling work. The role leads day-to-day delivery, builds a domestic donor coalition, and strengthens cross-sector partnerships—bridging knowledge, philanthropy and on-ground action to drive scalable, equitable solutions in India.
Responsibilities
- Program delivery and implementation: translate strategy into workplans and deliverables; manage budgets, timelines, reporting and outcome tracking; maintain project management discipline across workstreams such as vulnerability storytelling, sector mapping and donor advisory.
- Donor coalition building: coordinate a heat and cooling donor coalition; develop investment cases and briefs; steward relationships, track interests and progress, and facilitate collaboration.
- Partnership development and stakeholder engagement: manage relationships across philanthropy, civil society, government and private sector; activate partnerships for technical expertise, implementation capacity and policy leverage; represent ICC in external forums.
- Convening and events: plan and deliver round tables, bilateral meetings, thematic convening and workshops; run agendas, logistics, speaker coordination, collateral and follow-up; work with communications to amplify outcomes.
- Research and knowledge management: commission or conduct focused research (policy mapping, donor landscape, solution assessments); synthesise into actionable products tailored to donors and implementation partners; track national and international policy developments.
- Cross-functional collaboration: coordinate across engagement, communications, finance and operations; align with other ICC verticals (urban resilience, public health, energy, livelihoods); proactively manage priorities to keep programming on track.
Requirements
- 7–10 years’ experience with strong, demonstrable work in climate/adaptation/resilience; heat stress/DRR experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; strong written and verbal communication; stakeholder management; ability to synthesise multi-source information into clear outputs.
Benefits
- Opportunity to shape a national heat resilience and cooling agenda within a sector-convening platform; cross-sector exposure; hybrid work model within a mission-driven team.
