The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization. It works to save lives and reduce disease in low-and middle-income countries by helping governments build sustainable, high-quality health systems. In India, CHAI works in partnership with its affiliate, the William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF). WJCF is an independent not-for-profit organisation that supports the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on high-priority health initiatives, including infectious diseases, cancer, maternal and child health, and digital health.
Role
Program Officer – Entomology Technical Support Unit responsible for strengthening entomological capacity and supporting vector-borne disease programmes across national and state health systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational support to entomological units to enhance surveillance and vector control.
- Coordinate with national and state disease control programmes and stakeholders.
- Support training, capacity building, and guideline implementation for staff and health workers.
- Facilitate meetings, field visits, and program reviews across districts and states.
- Track trends in vector populations and disease outbreaks using data analysis.
- Draft program documentation, reports, advisories, and technical communications.
- Maintain consistent feedback loops and monitor progress toward entomological objectives.
- Support cross-departmental coordination to ensure delivery of outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Zoology, Biology, Environmental Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum ~8 years of professional experience in entomology, public health or related programme work.
- Strong data recording, reporting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Experience working with government health programmes and field teams.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to new environments, and travel frequently (~30–40%).
- Proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
