Veruschka Foundation

Veruschka Foundation is a non-profit organisation that works to empower persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities(PwIDDs). The organization uses the culinary arts as a medium to promote social inclusion and economic independence. Their initiatives focus on providing life skills, market-aligned vocational training, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

These opportunities are created through mainstream employment, supported work environments, and micro-entrepreneurship programs. Based in Mumbai, the foundation aims to bridge the gap between marginalized individuals and the workforce, ensuring that PwIDDs can become active and contributing members of their communities.

Role

The Programme Associate manages the ground-level execution of skill development initiatives. This role involves mobilising the community to identify potential participants, managing the admissions process, and coordinating with faculty and counsellors to ensure high-quality training delivery. The associate serves as a primary link between the foundation's strategic goals and the day-to-day progress of the students.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of training programs in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Lead outreach efforts and field visits to engage potential students, parents, and local community institutions.
  • Manage the end-to-end admissions process, including counseling families and handling enrollments.
  • Track and document student progress, program challenges, and key learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Collect and analyze program data using MIS tools to support monitoring and evaluation efforts.
  • Prepare internal and external impact reports for donors and management.
  • Coordinate with the communications team to share success stories and photographs from the field.
  • Work with placement partners and internal employment initiatives to help graduates secure jobs or income-generating opportunities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Education, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of mandatory professional experience, ideally in the development sector.
  • Demonstrated ability in community outreach and stakeholder mobilization.
  • Proficiency in data collection, reporting, and using project management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic and persuasive communication style.
  • Ability to conduct focus group discussions and extensive field visits.
  • A passion for disability rights and social equity.
