Programme Manager - Bhumi Fellowship

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Experience: 3+ years in project/people management; teaching or fellowship experience preferred.
Compensation: ₹50,000 – ₹58,000 /month

Role

The Programme Manager leads the implementation of the Bhumi Fellowship within a specific rural cluster. You will act as a coach and strategic partner, guiding Fellows to transform government school ecosystems and ensuring that every child in the block receives a holistic, high-quality education.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach Fellows to improve their teaching practices, leadership skills, and ability to manage school-wide change.
• Support Fellows in collaborating with Headmasters and teachers to enhance classroom engagement and school culture.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with block-level education officials (BEOs, BRTEs) to align program goals with government priorities.
• Monitor program progress through regular school visits, data reviews, and reflection sessions to ensure student outcomes are met.
• Assist in core fellowship activities including recruitment, strategy development, and donor reporting.
• Design and lead training sessions for adult learners (Fellows and school staff).

Requirements

• Any Graduate or Post-graduate degree; completion of a fellowship program is a significant advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in managing people or projects, ideally within the education sector.
• Prior experience in classroom teaching and the ability to coach others.
• Strong understanding of the Indian education ecosystem, policies, and school functioning.
• Ability to analyse data to make informed decisions and drive outcome-oriented plans.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Tamil is highly preferred.
• Competency in MS Office and digital data collection tools.
• High emotional maturity, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to commit to the role for a minimum of three years.
