Role
The Programme Manager leads the implementation of the Bhumi Fellowship within a specific rural cluster. You will act as a coach and strategic partner, guiding Fellows to transform government school ecosystems and ensuring that every child in the block receives a holistic, high-quality education.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and coach Fellows to improve their teaching practices, leadership skills, and ability to manage school-wide change.
- Support Fellows in collaborating with Headmasters and teachers to enhance classroom engagement and school culture.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with block-level education officials (BEOs, BRTEs) to align program goals with government priorities.
- Monitor program progress through regular school visits, data reviews, and reflection sessions to ensure student outcomes are met.
- Assist in core fellowship activities including recruitment, strategy development, and donor reporting.
- Design and lead training sessions for adult learners (Fellows and school staff).
Requirements
- Any Graduate or Post-graduate degree; completion of a fellowship program is a significant advantage.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing people or projects, ideally within the education sector.
- Prior experience in classroom teaching and the ability to coach others.
- Strong understanding of the Indian education ecosystem, policies, and school functioning.
- Ability to analyse data to make informed decisions and drive outcome-oriented plans.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Tamil is highly preferred.
- Competency in MS Office and digital data collection tools.
- High emotional maturity, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to commit to the role for a minimum of three years.
