As a Section 8 not-for-profit, the organisation brings together grassroots knowledge and professional expertise to design and deliver programs that challenge discrimination, promote inclusive care, and support wellbeing. Through advocacy, research and partnership, Safe Access makes healthcare safer and more respectful for every LGBTQ+ person.
Role
The Programs Officer will take the lead in designing, executing, and monitoring Safe Access’s programmes. This full-time remote role offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful change, shape advocacy, and empower LGBTQ+ communities across India.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver key program initiatives, ensuring strategic goals and timelines are met.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions.
- Build partnerships with community organisations, healthcare providers, and volunteers.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to expand program awareness and impact.
- Attend events online and offline (occasional travel 1-2 times per quarter).
- Track and evaluate program progress, preparing detailed reports for funders and internal use.
- Oversee updates and content for the Safe Access website; no coding required.
- Organise and manage webinars, workshops, and public events.
- Support administrative, fundraising, and proposal-writing efforts.
- Foster teamwork and represent Safe Access at community networks and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Social Work, Public Health, Non-profit Management or related field).
- 1-3 years’ experience in program management, ideally at a non-profit.
- Good understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and healthcare challenges.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
- Strong communication abilities and partnership-building experience.
- Self-driven and collaborative, comfortable multitasking in small teams.
