The Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) is dedicated to helping Indian state governments improve development outcomes through four key pillars:

About the Role
The Project Associate - Technology will work on the development and maintenance of Web, Android, and iOS applications for CEGIS. The ideal candidate should be proficient in front-end technologies and mobile app development, with a preference for experience in dynamic startup environments.

Location: Flexible - NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, or Hyderabad (with potential travel across India)
Compensation: Competitive with Indian social sector pay scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive mobile applications (Web, Android, iOS).
- Collaborate with designers to implement visually appealing interfaces.
- Ensure the technical feasibility and optimization of UI/UX designs.
- Integrate front-end with back-end components.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and participate in code reviews.
- Stay updated with industry trends in mobile app development.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience as a Mobile Developer, ideally in a startup.
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and libraries (jQuery, Bootstrap).
- Knowledge of HTML5, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile app development for Android (Java/Kotlin) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C).
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter).
- Basic understanding of back-end technologies (Node.js, Python/Django, PHP).
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and DevOps practices is beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with server-side rendering and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and Agile/Scrum processes.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Independent, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
