Loyola Extension Services

Founded in 1986, Loyola Extension Services (LES) serves as the outreach and resource arm of Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram. Based in Kerala, LES integrates academic learning with real-world engagement through programmes in community development, counselling, child protection, research, documentation, and social consultancy. It runs key interventions such as the Kerala Child Rights Observatory (KeCRO) and the Loyola Family Counselling Centre. Over the decades, LES has worked with government, civil society, and international agencies (e.g., UNICEF) to build social capacity and drive evidence-informed change.

Role

Loyola Extension Services (LES), the community outreach wing of Loyola College of Social Sciences, is looking for a Project Coordinator to lead a 3-year project on Constitutional Values and Social Change, funded by the Azim Premji Foundation. You will drive field operations, manage a cohort of Fellows, and ensure the project delivers meaningful, community-level impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead extensive fieldwork and provide on-ground support to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Mentor, guide, and coordinate a team of 20 Fellows working across multiple field sites.
  • Design, organise, and facilitate training programmes on constitutional values and social change.
  • Oversee project administration, budgeting, and financial compliance.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting structures, and ensure high-quality monitoring and evaluation.
  • Communicate effectively with institutional partners, community stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ensure timelines, field processes, and programme outputs meet required standards.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to constitutional values, social justice, and community empowerment.
  • Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Law, or Social Work (strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience managing development or research projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing field teams or community cohorts.
  • Ability to design and conduct effective community trainings.
  • Skilled in budgeting, documentation, and overall project coordination.
  • Organised, dependable, and comfortable working in demanding, field-intensive conditions.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken formats.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to shifting field realities.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented; you anticipate challenges and act before being asked.
