About The Role
Location: Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh (frequent travel within Himachal Pradesh)
Type: Consultant role for 2 years, with a possible extension
Salary: ₹ 9-12L per annum
This role involves leading impactful data-driven projects for public welfare, engaging both internal teams and external stakeholders, including government officers, funders, and domain experts. You’ll be part of CDL’s multidisciplinary team and play a key role in planning, strategy, and on-ground execution, aligning initiatives with CDL’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
- Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies to identify project priorities.
- Develop project plans, objectives, and timelines that align with initiative goals.
- Design locally tailored strategies, particularly for Himachal Pradesh, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Project Implementation
- Oversee daily project operations, ensuring on-schedule and effective implementation.
- Coordinate closely with local authorities, internal project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for internal and external sharing.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor activities and assess the project impact.
Stakeholder Management
- Foster relationships with government agencies, civil societies, academia, and other partners.
- Act as the primary contact, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
- Engage communities to encourage participation and ownership of project activities.
- Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the social impact or development sector.
- Familiarity with the local context of Himachal Pradesh and a background in data or technology.
Skills
- Leadership: Proven experience managing on-field and remote teams.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English (knowledge of local dialects is a plus).
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently, especially within Himachal Pradesh.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of research processes, software development lifecycle, and data management practices.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and switch between different project domains.
