The Foundational Learning – UP (DPMU) Team strengthens the NIPUN Bharat Mission by streamlining district-level governance and academic strategies. Their work ensures that high-level planning translates into effective classroom teaching, directly improving student learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
Role
Project Manager to lead our District Project Management Unit (DPMU) in Uttar Pradesh. In this role, you will be the bridge between strategic planning and classroom execution. You will build data systems to monitor progress and work closely with district officials to ensure the NIPUN Bharat Mission succeeds at the grassroots level.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for district-level initiatives.
- Coordinate work across different teams to stay aligned with district education priorities.
- Conduct field visits to schools and classrooms to understand how training and policies are working on the ground.
- Build strong relationships with district officials like the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) and Block Education Officers (BEOs).
- Lead capacity-building sessions with local cadres to foster ownership of the project.
- Use data to identify risks and solve problems before they impact the mission.
- Share field insights to help optimize processes and recommend scalable solutions for systemic reform.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in project management or the development sector.
- Prior experience in the Indian education sector is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite for data organization.
- Strong analytical skills to derive insights from large datasets for decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with government stakeholders and field staff.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate the challenges of district-level governance.
- Strategic thinking with a high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
