Role
You will serve as the bridge between the training centre and the community in Dharavi. This is a field-intensive role where you will identify, counsel, and encourage young people to sign up for training programs that can launch their careers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct door-to-door visits and organize outreach events like street plays to identify eligible youth in the community.
- Build strong relationships with community leaders, NGOs, schools, and colleges to spread awareness about training programs.
- Counsel candidates on the benefits of skill training and guide them toward courses that match their background.
- Assist candidates with the registration process, verify their documents, and handle data entry.
- Monitor student attendance and follow up regularly to resolve issues and prevent dropouts.
- Gather feedback from the community to improve outreach strategies.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on mobilisation numbers and share insights with the program team.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in fieldwork, community mobilisation, or working with youth.
- Minimum 10+2 qualification; a graduate degree is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with families and community members.
- Comfortable with extensive travel within Dharavi and conducting door-to-door engagement.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Google Forms.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on meeting enrolment targets.
