Since its 2020 digital-first launch, it has connected global and local audiences through online exhibitions, talks, and educational resources. MAP blends tradition with technology, making art accessible, engaging, and relevant to people of all ages.

Role

MAP is seeking a meticulous and organised Publication Coordinator to drive its growing publication programme. You’ll manage exhibition catalogues, artist monographs, academic works, newsletters, and digital content—ensuring quality, timely delivery, and creative collaboration across teams and with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee timelines, budgets, and deliverables for all print and digital publications.
  • Coordinate with writers, editors, photographers, translators, and proofreaders throughout the editorial process.
  • Work with designers on layouts, typesetting, and print-ready files.
  • Liaise with printers, distributors, and publishers; negotiate terms and monitor quality.
  • Support marketing efforts for publication launches and promotions.
  • Adapt selected publications for digital formats (PDFs, e-books, microsites).
  • Maintain archives, permissions, ISBNs, and metadata for cataloguing.
  • Act as the link between curatorial, communications, and educational teams.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ experience in publishing, editorial project management, or similar cultural/academic roles.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Network within India’s publishing and printing sectors.
  • Familiarity with copyediting, proofreading, and production workflows.
  • Excellent English communication; Kannada is a plus.
  • Preferred: Adobe InDesign/Illustrator skills and knowledge of printing standards.
  • Comfortable working remotely using digital collaboration tools.
