When 12th-pass rural women finish school, career options narrow to traditional vocations. Sajhe Sapne opens up an entirely different path. Through year-long Mini-MBA programmes at district Sapna Centres, young women train for management roles in non-traditional fields. They learn entrepreneurial skills, gain technical expertise, and launch careers that challenge the "silai-kadai-bunai" stereotype. The result? Sapnewaalis who shift workplace norms and household expectations alike. By 2030, the organisation aims to ensure 20% of young village women in Madhya Pradesh are steadily learning and earning for at least a year after school.
Role
Lead comprehensive research that will shape Sajhe Sapne's expansion strategy, mapping Madhya Pradesh's skilling ecosystem and co-authoring a landmark "State of Skilling Report for MP."
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ecosystem mapping of MP's skilling and livelihood landscape; design and execute both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Analyse stakeholder networks including government agencies, NGOs, private players and grassroots organisations; investigate policy frameworks and identify opportunities for government collaboration
- Develop research frameworks and data collection strategies; conduct virtual interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders
- Synthesise complex data into clear, actionable insights; lead field research during a week-long immersive trip across MP districts
- Author sections of the "State of Skilling Report for MP"; present findings to leadership and support program design based on research insights
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduates and early-career professionals welcome)
- Bachelor's or Master's in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Public Policy or related fields
- Proven ability in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Exceptional written and oral skills in both English and Hindi
- Comfortable conducting interviews, focus groups and stakeholder meetings
- Ability to develop comprehensive plans and execute end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
