Experience: Entry to mid-level (suitable for passionate individuals regardless of formal experience)
Compensation: ₹15,000-25,000/month for up to 2 years

Visthar

Founded over three decades ago, Visthar works as a catalyst for social change across Karnataka. The organisation nurtures young changemakers who believe in the power of constitutional values to transform communities. Through structured mentorship and creative expression, Visthar empowers activists, artists, educators and community leaders to champion justice, equality and fraternity. Their approach combines grassroots organizing with cultural interventions, creating spaces where marginalized voices can flourish and democratic values take root in everyday life.

Role

The Samvidhana Payana Fellowship is designed to support young changemakers in promoting constitutional values across Karnataka communities. Fellows have the autonomy to design and implement innovative approaches to advancing liberty, justice, equality and fraternity through their chosen mediums and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative strategies to promote constitutional values (liberty, justice, equality, fraternity) in your community
  • Design activities such as consciousness-raising sessions, community organizing, cultural performances, or legal aid services
  • Form collectives and facilitate community engagement around social justice issues
  • Create original content (plays, songs, films, art installations) that highlight constitutional principles
  • Participate in structured training programmes on constitutional values and community organizing
  • Work collaboratively with other fellows and mentors in the Visthar network
  • Document and share learnings from your fellowship work

Requirements

  • Age between 21-35 years from any gender
  • Background as community facilitator, activist, artist, filmmaker, educator, lawyer, or journalist
  • Strong commitment to promoting justice, equality, fraternity, liberty, and pluralism
  • From a marginalized socio-economic background
  • Currently residing in Bagalkot, Bellary, Bengaluru, Chitradurga, or Koppal
  • Passion for full-time engagement in strengthening constitutional values
  • Ability to work independently and design innovative approaches to social change
