About the Role
Location: Bengaluru, India
CSTEP is seeking a dedicated professional to join their Mitigation and Air Quality team. The role is crucial for driving data-driven solutions and models to address climate change, air quality concerns, and emissions mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Model Development: Develop models to project India’s energy demand and future greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across multiple sectors.
- Air Quality Research: Build and implement models to estimate pollutant exposure, quantify air pollution sources, and assess their health impacts.
- Data Analysis: Analyse large datasets, conduct trend analysis, and validate models to ensure accuracy.
- Policy Engagement: Provide research support for framing climate and air quality policies.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams, policymakers, and external stakeholders for knowledge sharing and driving policy decisions.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, or related fields.
Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in climate change, energy systems, or air quality research.
• Skills:
- Proficiency in modelling tools (e.g., GAMS, R, Python).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
