Role
You will strengthen the organization's Monitoring & Evaluation systems across multiple verticals, designing robust data collection frameworks and conducting field assessments to track project impact. This role combines technical M&E expertise with hands-on field implementation to ensure data-driven program management.
Responsibilities
- Design project-specific need assessments, baselines, monitoring plans, and evaluations in collaboration with senior leadership
- Develop and implement robust M&E systems leveraging data management platforms, analytics tools, and statistical software (Excel, Power BI, SPSS)
- Conduct secondary literature reviews, household surveys, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions
- Train data collectors on M&E tools and ensure data quality through regular field monitoring
- Create and maintain accurate beneficiary databases across organizational verticals, updating MIS platforms with real-time data
- Track project progress through site visits, assessing performance against defined indicators and conducting concurrent monitoring
- Perform periodic MIS reviews to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and relevance across all programs
- Generate evidence-based reports and share results with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with project execution teams across verticals to ensure alignment and integration of M&E activities
- Travel frequently to project sites including rural and remote areas as per project needs
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Health Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, Rural Development, or related disciplines
- Minimum 1 year of experience in development/NGO sector with exposure to M&E systems and field assessments
- Strong technical and statistical proficiency with data management systems and analytics tools (Kobo, Google Forms, SurveyMonkey)
- Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization software (Excel, Power BI, SPSS, R, Stata, Python, or Tableau)
- Sound understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, data analysis, and report writing
- Excellent report writing, data interpretation, and presentation abilities
- Strong command over written and spoken English (Kannada proficiency desirable)
- Positive attitude, proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure with attention to detail
- Willingness to travel frequently to rural and tribal communities, sometimes at short notice
- Commitment to data confidentiality and security protocols
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
- Basic understanding of social research methodology (qualitative and quantitative)
- Knowledge and experience with Canva for creating visual content
