Role

This is a leadership position focused on delivering AI-generated weather forecasts to smallholder farmers at scale. You will work at the intersection of policy and climate adaptation, partnering with government stakeholders to institutionalize these services and help millions of farmers build resilience against changing weather patterns.

Responsibilities

Manage the program from design to delivery, ensuring weather forecasts reach farmers effectively and align with partner priorities.
Build and execute strategies to embed these advisory services into government systems for long-term sustainability.
Lead a diverse team of scientists, researchers, and program staff to harmonize workstreams and meet clear goals.
Maintain strong relationships with government agencies and navigate complex approval processes with patience and tact.
Work with the research team to use data and farmer feedback to continuously improve forecast content and delivery channels.
Oversee budgets, work plans, and timelines to ensure SMS and voice campaigns launch smoothly.
Represent PxD in external meetings with senior government leadership, donors, and the climate adaptation community.
Mentor junior staff and document lessons learned to strengthen institutional knowledge.

Requirements

7-10+ years of experience in strategy or program management, preferably within public sector initiatives.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public policy, agriculture, economics, development studies, or a related field.
Experience working with or alongside government institutions to scale services is highly preferred.
Strong ability to analyze data and evidence to make informed program decisions.
Excellent communication skills in English. Fluency in Hindi is highly preferred, and other Indian languages are a plus.
Familiarity with digital agriculture, climate adaptation programs, or technology for development is a strong advantage.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt quickly when plans or circumstances change.
