Role

You will be embedded within a government ministry to drive digital agricultural initiatives at scale. This position requires a mix of rigorous research management, strategic design, and the ability to communicate complex insights to stakeholders to ensure programs are impactful and inclusive.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for impact and provide strategic design input on new research ideas.
  • Manage the implementation of research activities, ensuring projects adhere to strict rigor, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee data management, survey creation, and A/B testing processes.
  • Interpret internal data and external academic literature to guide program improvements.
  • Manage relationships with government partners and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and guide Associate and Manager level staff.
  • Contribute to funding proposals, project reports, and external communications like blogs and briefs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in economics, agricultural economics, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience working on at least three large projects involving rigorous research or evidence-based programs in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Deep understanding of randomized evaluations (RCTs) and research ethics.
  • Excellent technical skills in Stata, R, or similar data analysis software.
  • Proficiency in survey design using tools like SurveyCTO or ODK.
  • Strong ability to synthesize academic literature and write clear, compelling English.
  • Willingness to travel to field sites in India.
