About the Role
Wadhwani AI is collaborating with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to operationalize the IndiaAI Mission. We are seeking a Technology Policy Associate to join our Program Management Unit (PMU) team at MeitY. This role will support the creation of AI policies and contribute to tech-driven governance.
Location: Delhi
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Provide policy advice on AI-related issues and collaborate with industry experts, academia, and think tanks.
- Project Management: Assist in planning and implementing key IndiaAI mission initiatives, such as AI Innovation Centres, Datasets Platforms, and FutureSkills.
- Research & Reporting: Conduct research on global AI trends and regulatory frameworks, and help prepare policy briefs and reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government agencies, startups, and international organizations to foster knowledge-sharing and partnerships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to ensure smooth execution of activities across IndiaAI mission pillars.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Technology Policy, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Law, Economics, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications or training in AI, data governance, or emerging technologies is a plus.
- 4-5 years of experience in technology or public policy with a focus on AI, digital governance, or transformation.
- Awareness of the ethical and social implications of AI in public policy.
- Experience working with government agencies, think tanks, or tech firms on policy or digital initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and commitment to promoting responsible AI practices.
