Role
The Skills Building Officer oversees the daily operations of the training centre. The purpose of this role is to ensure training programs run smoothly, lead a small team, and connect with the community to ensure people can access these life-changing opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Organize and monitor all training sessions according to the schedule.
- Maintain accurate attendance logs, progress reports, and training records.
- Visit neighbouring areas to meet people, explain the programs, and enrol new participants.
- Build strong relationships with local leaders and government representatives to gain support for the centre.
- Guide the local centre team, assign tasks clearly, and maintain a positive working environment.
- Travel within the region for community meetings and program-related activities.
Requirements
- A Graduate or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW).
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in the NGO or social service sector.
- Fluency in Tamil (spoken) is essential; proficiency in English is required for writing reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse community groups.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and digital reporting.
- A self-motivated personality with a passion for rural and semi-urban community development.
- Willingness to travel locally for outreach and liaison work.
