Role

The Skills Building Officer oversees the daily operations of the training centre. The purpose of this role is to ensure training programs run smoothly, lead a small team, and connect with the community to ensure people can access these life-changing opportunities.

Responsibilities

Organize and monitor all training sessions according to the schedule.
Maintain accurate attendance logs, progress reports, and training records.
Visit neighbouring areas to meet people, explain the programs, and enrol new participants.
Build strong relationships with local leaders and government representatives to gain support for the centre.
Guide the local centre team, assign tasks clearly, and maintain a positive working environment.
Travel within the region for community meetings and program-related activities.

Requirements

A Graduate or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW).
5–8 years of relevant experience in the NGO or social service sector.
Fluency in Tamil (spoken) is essential; proficiency in English is required for writing reports.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse community groups.
Basic computer skills, including MS Office and digital reporting.
A self-motivated personality with a passion for rural and semi-urban community development.
Willingness to travel locally for outreach and liaison work.
