Role
The Social Officer acts as a vital link between the organization and the community. You will lead grassroots efforts to organize village groups, promote sustainable farming, and advocate for the rights of women and children to ensure lasting social change.
Responsibilities
- Lead community meetings with village leaders, farmers, and self-help groups to explain project goals.
- Coordinate social mobilization efforts to help local organizations implement development projects.
- Manage agricultural planning and support farmers in adopting sustainable practices.
- Document project impact through data collection, case studies, and photo documentation.
- Support child growth monitoring and conduct life skills training for adolescent girls.
- Build strong linkages between village communities and government departments for better resource access.
- Prepare detailed physical and financial reports to track project progress.
- Facilitate training sessions focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Rural Development, or Rural Management.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant field experience in the development sector.
- Fluent in Hindi and comfortable with the local language of the region.
- Strong skills in project management, planning, and monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including government officials and tribal communities.
