Role
You will be a Full-Time Social Worker responsible for direct, field-level engagement with adolescent girls and their communities in two informal settlements in Patna. This role involves facilitating peer learning sessions and leading community conversations to address girls' vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and co-facilitate peer group sessions twice a week using creative methods like art, theatre, storytelling, and football.
- Conduct monthly dialogues and small group conversations with families and community members on sensitive topics such as early marriage, education, and safety.
- Provide step-by-step support to help girls access government schemes like scholarships, the bicycle scheme, and the Kanya Utthan Yojana.
- Assist the Project Coordinator with data collection, including tracking girls' progress, documenting their participation, and recording their access to schemes.
- Work closely with ASHA and Anganwadi workers to mobilize girls and their families for health and project sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in social work, community development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with adolescents and their families.
- Experience in facilitating group sessions and engaging communities on sensitive topics.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn about government schemes and navigation processes.
- A strong commitment to girls' empowerment and social change.
