Project Tech4Dev
Project Tech4Dev aims to be a high-performing tech enabler for non-profits. They provide open-source platforms and build tech capacity in non-profits, helping them amplify their impact. Their platforms include Glific, Dalgo, and Avni, which are used by NGOs to improve efficiency and outreach. They also build tech and data capacity in non-profits by placing seasoned technology professionals with their Fractional CxO Program.
Role
As a Software Developer III (AI/LLM), you will play a key role in developing and scaling technology platforms using cutting-edge AI, ML, and LLM solutions. You will design, build, and optimise AI-driven systems, with a special focus on Generative AI and NLP applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in low-resource and Global South contexts while collaborating with a dynamic, cross-functional team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and scale technology platforms using state-of-the-art AI, ML, and LLM methods.
- Collaborate with engineers to build robust, efficient systems.
- Contribute to system design and architecture decisions with senior engineers.
- Design, implement, and optimise machine learning algorithms for Generative AI and NLP.
- Analyse and preprocess large datasets for model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Run experiments to test performance, robustness, and fairness of models.
- Align AI solutions with partner and programme goals in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Deliver projects with clean, maintainable code, on time.
Required
- 5–7 years of experience in software development, data science, or machine learning.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Proven track record in building and deploying ML or NLP models in production.
- Exposure to LLMs and open-source AI tools (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, vector databases).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.
Skills
- Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and Generative AI.
- Strong coding, debugging, and documentation skills.
- Experience in agile, collaborative environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively.
