Location: Remote
Experience: 6+ years in Backend Development (Elixir, Ruby, Python, or Erlang)
Compensation: ₹ 1,16,666 – ₹ 1,66,666 /month

Role

As a Software Developer III, you will lead the creation of powerful backend systems for Glific, an open-source tool that helps NGOs talk to thousands of people at once via WhatsApp. You will build scalable tech, solve complex problems, and guide a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software for social good.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of high-performance backend systems using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Break down complex technical projects into manageable tasks for the engineering team.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code while enforcing high standards for quality.
• Develop automated test suites to ensure the platform remains reliable and bug-free.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot technical bottlenecks to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with different teams to deliver new features that help NGOs communicate better.
• Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance and professional coaching.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends to bring fresh innovations to the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6 or more years of professional experience in software development.
• Deep expertise in Elixir, Phoenix, Erlang, Ruby, or Python with a willingness to master Elixir.
• Strong hands-on experience with databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like ReactJS or modern JavaScript.
• Proven ability to lead projects and deliver complex features from start to finish.
• Proficient in Git-based workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong leadership qualities to advocate for operational excellence and mentor others.
