Role

The Special Educator designs and leads personalized learning plans to help students with disabilities grow. You will focus on building their confidence, improving behavior, and teaching the life skills needed to succeed in professional kitchens and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of Individualized Skilling Plans (ISPs) for all assigned learners.
• Manage classroom and practical training sessions to ensure every student can participate.
• Coordinate with culinary faculty to adapt teaching materials for different learning needs.
• Implement positive behavior support plans to create a safe and respectful environment.
• Support students during real-world internships and kitchen training.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to track growth and plan for the future.
• Uphold professional ethics and safeguarding norms in line with RCI guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or Rehabilitation.
• 1–3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Valid RCI certification is preferred.
• Strong skills in inclusive education and behavioral intervention strategies.
• Proficient in documentation and basic computer applications for reporting.
• Excellent empathy, patience, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Deep commitment to the values of social inclusion and learner success.
