Pratham Education Foundation

Pratham now works across 25+ states to improve learning outcomes for children and youth through programs that focus on foundational literacy, numeracy, and skill development. The organization has earned global recognition, including the Lui Che Woo Prize and WISE Prize for Innovation, for its evidence-based approach to tackling educational inequality in resource-constrained settings.

Role

This position connects Pratham's English Team with teachers on the ground across multiple states. You'll adapt learning content for local contexts, build teacher capacity through training, and provide hands-on classroom support to improve English language learning for children in underserved schools.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt centrally developed English learning content to suit local contexts and state curriculum frameworks
  • Organise and facilitate teacher training workshops (online and offline) to strengthen ESL teaching practices
  • Conduct field visits to monitor classroom implementation, provide support, and document progress
  • Serve as liaison between the English Team, field staff, government education departments, and teachers
  • Support systematic documentation of program outcomes and teacher development progress
  • Provide regular reports and insights from the field to inform program improvements
  • Facilitate review meetings with state education officials and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in Education, English, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Proficiency in English and Kannada; Hindi knowledge desirable
  • Strong understanding of ESL pedagogy and interest in curriculum development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate teachers
  • Strong planning, organisational, and analytical abilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Willingness to travel extensively to low-resource and remote locations
  • Readiness to commit for 2-3 years
  • Prior experience in content development, teacher training, or educational program implementation preferred
  • Experience with government education systems or nonprofits is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in Marathi, Tamil, or Telugu is advantageous
