Citizen Digital Foundation
Citizen Digital Foundation (CDF) is a nonprofit based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, dedicated to making technology safer, more responsible, and accessible for everyone. At a time when over half of India is online and digital tools shape every part of our lives, CDF steps in to address the challenges that come with rapid tech adoption—like misinformation, privacy breaches, digital addiction, and online safety concerns.
CDF’s mission is to promote safe and responsible navigation of the digital world. They do this by running digital and media literacy workshops, advocating for responsible tech and AI, and working with students, parents, educators, policymakers, and businesses to build a healthier digital ecosystem. Their initiatives tackle issues like digital distraction, cyberbullying, attention-harvesting, and the mental health impact of social media—especially on children and teens.

CDF also partners with other organizations to influence tech policy, support public consultations, and push for better digital rights and protections in India. Their projects, like the Litt information literacy platform, help people of all ages develop critical skills to spot misinformation and protect their privacy online.
Incubated at IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL, CDF is driven by a passionate team determined to make technology work for people, not the other way around. Their work supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and aims to create a digital future that’s safe, inclusive, and empowering for all.
