Job Type: Fractional CTO (Tech, Data, and Tech Strategy)
Job Location: Remote
Salary Range: ₹ 35,00,000 - ₹ 45,00,000 per year
Job Brief:
Seeking an experienced Fractional CTO to work with one or more NGOs in a strategic and leadership capacity. The role involves designing and executing technology and data strategies, improving operational efficiencies, and building internal tech capacity within nonprofit organizations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Improve NGO processes to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Design and execute a tech + data strategy and roadmap.
- Oversee the design and implementation of software development projects.
- Lead and inspire teams to identify business needs, process gaps, and technology levers.
- Build internal team capacity on technology tools and processes.
- Identify, build, and manage partnerships for technology development and deployment.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Education: Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in technology.
- Sector Experience: Prior experience working or volunteering in the social sector is preferred. For corporate sector candidates, a short-term volunteering assignment will be arranged to ensure alignment with the sector.
- Core Competencies:
- Deep knowledge and experience in one or more CxO engagement pillars:
- Tech Strategy
- Technical Engineering & Project/Program Management
- Data Analysis and/or Management
- Experience in a strategic and managerial role for at least 3 years.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Adaptive mindset to align with organizational needs, capabilities, and constraints.
- Experience in team development and cross-functional collaboration.
- Belief in technology as an enabler, not just tools.
- Capacity-building mindset rather than an individual execution approach.
- Empathy and understanding of social sector challenges.
- Experience estimating and delivering software projects and/or product development.
- Familiarity with cloud, modern software systems, and open-source technologies.
- Deep knowledge and experience in one or more CxO engagement pillars:
Work Location and Travel:
- Remote work with weekly local team meetings.
- Quarterly travel (one week) for Project Tech4Dev team meetings.
- NGO office visits typically once or twice a quarter as per engagement needs.
