India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) supports sustained responses to HIV in India through partnerships with organisations and communities. They focus on capacity building, advocacy, technical support, and knowledge sharing to support community-based HIV programmes. Alliance India places marginalised populations, such as sex workers, transgender individuals, and people living with HIV, at the center of their efforts.
About the Role
The Technical Officer will provide support to Alliance India’s network of partner NGOs, focusing on monitoring, evaluation, data collection, and reporting. This role also involves capacity building, technical assistance, and managing CMIS (Client-based Management Information Systems).

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop monitoring and evaluation plans, formats, and reporting systems for partners.
- Manage CMIS and data collection, including quality assurance and reporting.
- Conduct data verification visits, support data quality assessments, and provide feedback.
- Assist in program evaluation, tool development, and capacity building.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as government bodies.
- Analyse and provide feedback on program effectiveness to the management team.
- Prepare reports such as MPR, QPR, QNR, and ensure donor compliance.
- Support concept note and proposal development for new funding sources.
- Travel across India for programme implementation.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Master’s degree in statistics, public health, social sciences, or related fields.
- Medical degree or PhD is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in programme management and monitoring, preferably in health-related domains.
- Experience with donor relations, M&E systems, and capacity building.
- Familiarity with working with government organisations like NACO, SACS, and grassroots NGOs.
- Proficiency in managing CMIS and MS Excel.
Personal Qualities:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Commitment to HIV/AIDS and sexual/reproductive health rights.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India (40-50%).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SQL, machine learning, or AI.
- Understanding of India’s HIV epidemic and development issues.
