Janaagraha is a non-profit trust founded in 2001, focused on improving the quality of life in India’s cities and towns. It works with citizens to promote active citizenship in urban neighbourhoods and partners with governments to bring about reforms in urban governance, known as “City-Systems.” As part of the JANA Group, co-founded by Swati and Ramesh Ramanathan, Janaagraha works across various domains including citizen participation, city planning, financial services for the urban poor, and affordable housing.
About the Role
The Technical Project Manager will oversee technology-driven projects aimed at improving urban governance and enhancing citizen participation. This role involves managing a small internal tech team, engaging program stakeholders, and coordinating with external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Develop detailed project plans and timelines, aligning them with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. Coordinate tasks across internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Accountability and Performance Management: Hold team members and external partners accountable for project milestones. Monitor progress, address bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with government officials, civic leaders, and community groups to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery within set timelines and project requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project continuity and success.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, with at least 2 years in technical project management.
Skills:
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong understanding of software and the software development process.
