International Center for Research on Women
Since 1976, the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) has been a global leader in advancing gender equity and inclusion. With a bold vision, ICRW tackles some of the world’s most pressing challenges by placing gender at the heart of every solution. From sustainable business practices to youth empowerment and global health, ICRW’s action-oriented research drives real change for women, girls, and structurally excluded populations.
ICRW’s approach blends high-quality research, evidence-based programmes, and strategic advocacy. Its teams of experienced researchers, advisors, and advocates work closely together to design and implement initiatives that empower communities and influence policy. The organisation’s research has illuminated critical issues such as child marriage, family planning, and economic empowerment, providing actionable insights for policymakers, donors, and civil society.
A key innovation is ICRW’s transition from a traditional nonprofit to a network system, prioritising low- and middle-income countries. Their Gender Centers of Excellence in Asia and Africa are deeply rooted in local communities, empowering local researchers and activists to shape global policies and foster inclusive ecosystems.
ICRW’s commitment is clear: by recalibrating power dynamics and sharing knowledge, they strive to create a world where equity is not just an ideal, but a lived reality for all. Their work continues to inspire, inform, and ignite change across continents, making ICRW a beacon for gender justice worldwide.
