The Convergence Foundation

The Convergence Foundation (TCF) was founded with a deep sense of urgency: India has a short, two-decade window to harness its demographic dividend and transform its economic trajectory. To rise to this challenge, TCF focuses on building lasting institutions that can address critical growth bottlenecks and create large-scale impact.

Unlike traditional philanthropies that primarily fund existing initiatives, TCF identifies underexplored but high-leverage issues, launches new organisations to address them, and supports their growth over time. These incubated entities—led by strong leaders and grounded in rigorous research—take an evidence-based and action-oriented approach to generate systemic change.

TCF’s portfolio areas reflect this vision. From enabling access to high-quality overseas employment pathways for Indian workers, to strengthening the country’s tourism economy, and even shaping policy to tackle structural barriers, the Foundation’s work is designed to unlock opportunities that will benefit millions.

The approach is rooted in three principles. First, the conviction that bold ideas, when paired with execution and leadership, can move the needle on complex challenges. Second, the belief that scaling impact requires building robust institutions that last well beyond individual projects. And third, the recognition that collaboration—with government, private sector, and civil society—is essential to achieving durable outcomes.

By incubating organisations and leaders while also nurturing policy ideas and partnerships, TCF acts as a catalyst. Every new venture and collaboration is guided by one goal: ensuring India makes the most of this pivotal phase in its history.

For people who join TCF, the work is not just about programs or projects; it is about shaping institutions that will define India’s growth story for decades. It is both a professional journey and an opportunity to be part of something much larger—the building of pathways for inclusive, sustainable prosperity.
