The Design team at IIHS plays a crucial role in branding and visual design for all communication materials across the institution. This includes creating posters, brochures, and managing the design and branding for all IIHS websites. Additionally, the team handles visual communication for events and conferences organized by IIHS.
About The Role
The Visual and Graphics Design Associate will create engaging and high-quality designs for both digital and print media, ensuring consistency with IIHS' brand identity. This role will collaborate with multiple teams and contribute to various institutional activities, including branding, concept development, and visual asset management.
Location: Bengaluru, with potential travel to other locations in India
Engagement: Contractual (11 months), renewable on mutual consent
Reporting to: Head – Communications and Design or a designated person
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design
- Create visual content for digital and print media, including reports, social media graphics, event materials, presentations, and advertisements.
Brand Consistency
- Ensure all design work aligns with IIHS’ brand guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity across channels.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the design and marketing teams to understand project requirements and deliver on design briefs.
Concept Development
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative design ideas to engage the target audience.
Visual Asset Management
- Maintain an organized library of visual assets such as images, icons, and templates.
Software Proficiency
- Use industry-standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite) to create and edit graphics and illustrations.
Quality Assurance
- Review and proofread designs to ensure they meet quality standards and are error-free.
Deadline Management
- Manage multiple design projects, meet deadlines, and communicate project status effectively with the team.
Trends and Innovation
- Stay updated with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance creativity and skills.
Support Institutional Activities
- Assist with various IIHS activities, including academics, research, training, and institutional operations.
Person Specification
Education:
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of relevant work experience in graphic design with the ability to work independently.
Portfolio:
- A strong portfolio showcasing diverse design projects and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality design work.
- Proficiency in English, Kannada, or Hindi, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of web design and UI/UX concepts is a plus.

- Photography, drawing/sketching, animation.
- Knowledge of HTML, web programming, WordPress, or any CMS-based web applications.
- Experience with hosting sites on FTP.
Additional Information
- Contract Duration: 11 months, renewable on mutual consent.
