YTF is seeking a Web Developer to maintain and enhance its WordPress website. This position supports the organization’s mission by ensuring a robust and user-friendly web presence that engages the community and furthers fundraising and outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Development and Maintenance: Maintain a responsive, visually appealing WordPress website that aligns with YTF’s goals.
- Custom Theme and Plugin Development: Develop custom themes and plugins to improve website functionality and user experience.
- Content Management: Work with content creators to ensure up-to-date, SEO-optimized, and engaging content.
- Performance Optimization: Improve website speed, scalability, and performance.
- Security Management: Implement protocols to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor website metrics and provide insights to guide decisions.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
Desired Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap) and modern JavaScript libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience with API integration and third-party tools (e.g., CRMs, donation platforms, email marketing systems).
- Understanding of SEO and tools like Google Analytics.
Design and UX:
- Ability to translate design concepts into functional websites.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop or Figma (preferred).
Project Management:
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical challenges.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of WordPress development, preferably in nonprofits.
- Knowledge of nonprofit-specific tools (e.g., GiveWP, Classy).
- Familiarity with nonprofit communications and community engagement.
