Role
Step into a unique, two-year journey as a Public Finance Fellow with Janaagraha’s Women in Public Finance Fellowship. This is your chance to drive real change in India’s cities, working alongside government leaders to design and implement impactful reforms in public finance. Join a select cohort of changemakers and become a leader in urban governance.
Responsibilities
- Research municipal laws, budgets, and revenue frameworks to understand city finance systems.
- Analyse budgets, audit reports, and service delivery data to uncover insights and identify gaps.
- Collaborate with senior government officers and stakeholders to align on project goals and outputs.
- Design and implement solutions to strengthen public finance systems, including digital transformation and process reforms.
- Document key learnings and contribute to wider discourse on public finance management.
- Participate in masterclasses, webinars, and workshops with industry leaders and domain experts.
- Engage in peer learning and knowledge sharing within a national network of professionals.
Requirements
- Academic background in public policy, urban governance, economics, finance, business, or related fields.
- 4–7 years of work experience (minimum 2 years for exceptional candidates).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness and ability to transition to the public finance sector.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for public leadership and urban reform.
