Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Institute (WASH Institute) is a registered NGO established in 2008 in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. WASH Institute is a technical, training, research and development organization dedicated to providing practical solutions to tackle a wide range of water, sanitation and hygiene issues in India. The organization is a sector partner of National Jal Jeevan Mission. Over the years, WASH Institute has carved its niche in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene as an expert through its quality training programs, Technical Assistance to the Government of India, grassroots programs, and research & advocacy.

Role

You will manage the financial health and daily office operations of the Kamuthi project, ensuring every rupee is tracked and used effectively to support water and sanitation goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup and maintenance of financial systems and internal controls for the program.
  • Manage all financial transactions between vendors and donors with precision.
  • Track expenses against budgets to ensure financial discipline across all project activities.
  • Coordinate with the program team to provide expert advice on procurement and financial planning.
  • Lead all project audits and prepare detailed financial reports for donors.
  • Manage legal and statutory records, including TDS and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle general administrative tasks to keep the project office running smoothly.

Requirements

  • B.Com or M.Com degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the development (NGO) sector.
  • Fluent in Hindi, English and Telugu (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Technical proficiency in Tally, Microsoft Teams, and the MS Office suite.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage audits and provide financial guidance to non-finance staff.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and vendor management.
