Role

A field-focused technical position dedicated to building and maintaining water conservation structures like ponds, check dams, and rainwater harvesting systems to help communities stay resilient against climate change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-ground supervision for desilting ponds, strengthening bunds, and repairing water sluices.
  • Coordinate the construction of check dams, soak pits, and recharge structures for borewells.
  • Manage site surveys, layout markings, and daily data collection on water levels and soil types.
  • Supervise contractors and masons to ensure all engineering work meets high-quality standards.
  • Facilitate community meetings to encourage local participation in maintaining water systems.
  • Document daily progress through site registers, detailed reports, and photo evidence.
  • Monitor the installation of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems in schools and public buildings.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience, though freshers with a strong interest in social impact are welcome.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for technical drawings and MS Office (Excel and Word) for reporting.
  • Valid driving license and ownership of a personal two-wheeler for frequent field travel.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage site-level challenges and work effectively within a team.
  • Deep interest in water conservation, sanitation themes, and rural development.
