Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will find and manage vendors, visit project sites, and make sure work gets done on time and to a good standard. You will be the link between field teams, vendors, and the office, keeping everything moving smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Find reliable vendors based on project needs, check their background, and bring them on board with clear agreements on price and timelines
- Build and maintain a database of all approved vendors
- Keep strong working relationships with vendors and quickly resolve issues that come up
- Monitor vendor performance and make sure services and materials are delivered as agreed
- Visit project sites regularly to track progress and ensure quality standards are met
- Coordinate with on-ground teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep work on schedule
- Spot problems at the site early and find practical solutions quickly
- Prepare site visit reports and regular project progress updates
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, work orders, invoices, and project milestones
- Support internal teams with planning, scheduling, procurement, and logistics
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred; related fields also considered
- Freshers are welcome to apply; up to 2 years of relevant experience is an advantage
- Prior experience in infrastructure projects within the NGO or social sector is a plus
- Comfortable with regular fieldwork, site visits, and working directly with vendors and contractors
- Good communication skills to coordinate clearly with teams, vendors, and external partners
- Well-organised and detail-oriented, with ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Basic computer skills for reporting, tracking, and maintaining project documents
