About The Role
WRI India is seeking a Program Head for Fundraising and Landscape Restoration to work within their Food, Land and Water program. This role will focus on unlocking diverse forms of capital towards restoration efforts by spearheading fundraising from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and philanthropic sources, designing strategies to unlock market capital, and ensuring effective deployment of capital in programs related to financing restoration.
What You'll Do
The Program Head will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies and building partnerships to support landscape restoration initiatives, including:
- Leading finance strategy development, partnerships, and fundraising proposals for the Food, Land and Water program
- Building funding products that match innovative solutions for different kinds of capital based on clear donor value propositions
- Supporting donor engagement, including relationship building and preparing materials to enhance donor relations
- Monitoring relevant international and national finance landscapes to identify strategic opportunities
- Exploring knowledge gaps where WRI India's research can improve restoration finance
- Building partnerships and coalitions by mapping the landscape and identifying potential partners
- Representing the organization at events, coalitions, roundtables, and similar settings
- Enabling strategic communication on restoration internally and with external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising (60%): Lead finance strategy development, build funding products, support donor engagement, and monitor finance landscapes.
- Influence Strategy and Research (20%): Explore knowledge gaps, contribute to strategy, influence research agenda, and co-author products.
- Partnership and Coalition Building (20%): Map landscapes, identify potential partners, represent the organization at key events, and enable strategic communication.
Requirements
- Master's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in fundraising, building strategic partnerships, leadership, and partnership development within natural resource management and restoration sectors
- Experience with fundraising for 7-9 figure grants and working with donors and private investors
- Experience leading teams in designing and delivering market-oriented solutions and/or structuring financial instruments
- Experience with the private sector, especially corporate business or financial systems related to land use and/or restoration
- Understanding of finance, restoration, sustainability investments, business models, ESG, green finance, and/or landscape restoration in India
- Proficiency in developing financial models for investment analysis and valuations
- Experience leading high-level research and communicating complex ideas to different audiences
- Excellent communication, partner management, and donor engagement skills
- Professional fluency in English; fluency in one more Indian language (e.g., Hindi) is an advantage
Location: Mumbai, India
Duration: 2 Years (extendable based on performance and project requirements)
Salary: Indian Rupees 35,00,000 to 46,50,000 CTC Per Annum with comprehensive benefits package
