About

ATMA Foundation is a Thrissur-based non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to community development and the empowerment of individuals and families across Kerala. Working since its founding with children, adolescents, youth, women, senior citizens, and rural populations, ATMA is notably the first not-for-profit organisation from Kerala to register on the Social Stock Exchange. The organisation holds 12A and 80G certifications and is registered with NGO Darpan.

ATMA's impact spans over 1,10,000 children and youth empowered through individual development initiatives, 1,116 children rescued at its Railway Child Help Desk, 12,200 teachers trained in basic counselling and mentoring, 47,600 parents given awareness on new-age challenges, 3,100 families supported with free counselling, and 8,000+ families across 50 villages provided disaster relief and rehabilitation support.

Key programmes include:

Care and Protection of Vulnerable Groups: ATMA runs the Gurukulam Girls' Home, currently providing residential care and support to 89 girls from vulnerable backgrounds. It also operates a Railway Child Help Desk at Thrissur railway station, rescuing and rehabilitating children found at risk.

Education and Empowerment: ATMA works with children, adolescents, and youth through structured individual development initiatives, including life skills education, mentoring, and youth leadership programmes.

Health and Wellness: ATMA runs an Ayush Health Centre in Kolazhy, Thrissur, offering integrative health services including yoga programmes for women's health, addressing conditions such as PCOS, hormonal imbalance, stress, and fatigue.

Community Development: ATMA delivers digital and financial literacy training to underserved populations, with over 5,000 persons trained to date. It also runs disaster relief and rehabilitation operations during floods and other crises in Kerala.

Counselling and Mental Health: ATMA has trained over 12,200 teachers in basic counselling and mentoring skills, and provided free counselling support to over 3,100 families, addressing a significant gap in mental health access in the region.

ATMA Harmony Village (Upcoming): An ambitious upcoming project bringing senior citizens' wellness living together with 30+ service projects on a single campus, designed as a unique integrated social work initiative.
